AI and compliance

This e-learning course is relevant for all compliance professionals involved in monitoring compliance with the rules governing the use of AI within an organisation.

This is an e-learning course at higher national education (HBO) level. This course partially overlaps with The Ministry of Compliance’s ‘AI Awareness’ e-learning and ‘AI Prompting Techniques’ courses. The ‘AI Prompting Techniques’ course is a useful supplementary resource for anyone who wishes to be able to write effective prompts themselves.

After completing this course, you will be able to:

• Explain what artificial intelligence (AI) is and how it is applied in a business context;
• Describe roles in AI and their responsibilities;
• Identify the basic principles of GenAI;
• Mitigate the risks of AI and avoid common pitfalls;
• Identify the risks associated with the use of AI in the operations of financial institutions;
• Determine at which stage of AI implementation certain risks arise;
• Explain how AI could be applied in the work of the compliance professional and what the potential advantages and disadvantages (integrity risks) of this are;
• Distinguish between the different categories of AI as defined by the EU AI Act and identify the requirements for high-risk AI systems;
• Describe the requirements under the EU AI Act that the compliance function is responsible for monitoring;
• Describe the content and application of the FRIA and the ALTAI;
• Describe what AI monitoring needs to be put in place and which risks can be managed as a result.
